The following is my full report of NEUROCAM ASSIGNMENT – NTE –
2376/01, which I carried out last night:

Yesterday evening I printed out two copies of the documents which had
been emailed to me and headed for the agreed location. I purchased a
single yellow flower on the way and wore it in the buttonhole of my
jacket.

I arrived there at 7:30pm, as agreed, and found a seat at the back of
the pub, concealed from the entry to the venue. I purchased a drink
and waited, reading a newspaper.

At approximately 7:50pm I was approached by a gentleman with brown
hair and glasses, who was wearing a dark suit, with a grey tie and
white shirt.

He looked at me, and at the flower on my jacket, and then said
""Rumplestiltskin was misunderstood". I replied with the
counter-phrase, "but nobody understood L. Fletcher Prouty."

He then sat down opposite me. We made small talk for a couple of
minutes and I handed a copy of the documents to the gentleman, who
introduced himself as "Simon". He then handed me back a single piece
of paper.

We spoke for a few minutes more. At one point he questioned me about
my activites for Neurocam, but I remembered one of the instructions
which you had sent me, as follows:

"8. ...Under no circumstances are you to discuss Neurocam by name or
reveal your operative ID."

As such I veered the conversation away from this topic and refused to
give him any details of my involvement with Neurocam or of my exact
assignment. We made small talk for a little while longer. The
gentleman told me some personal details about his life, although I am
not sure if these were fictitious or not.

The gentleman then shook my hand, picked up the documents, and left at
about 8:10pm.

I remained seated until 8:30pm, at which point I quickly left the pub
and went home.

mission accomplished.

I've got a manila evelope.

The operative was chill and well dressed.

Dear Mr. Hastings,

I am happy to report the successful resolution of assignment NTE-2376/02. I arrived at the meeting place at 7:35pm, ordered a drink, and scanned the crowd for my contact. At 7:45pm, I made contact, we exchanged phrases and documents, and chatted for the required 5 minutes. I then left quickly, as instructed.

Please note that this location was under surveillance. I do not feel, however, that this compromised the integrity of the mission.

Faithfully reported,

Agent XXXX

Mr. Hastings/Operations Personnel,

What follows is my report for NEUROCAM ASSIGNMENT – NTE – 2376/01.

I arrived at the location at precisely 7:30pm. The bar was fairly
crowded and growing moreso by the minute. I found an acceptable seat
and attached the yellow flower. (A daisy.) With a large selection of
the world's beers offered by this location, I thought it only fitting
to order their Australian offering, Cooper's. And so I did. At 7:45pm
a male took a seat next to me, readied himself, and offered the
opening phrase. After delivering the counter-phrase the operative and
I successfully exchanged documents. We engaged in small talk for
approximately five minutes at which time the operative bid me his
farewell and casually left the location. At 8:30pm, with no other
operatives having made contact, I promptly left the location. In my
possession is one envelope containing a document or documents. I have
destroyed the remaining three copies of the documents I was to hand
off to the other operative(s).

Also of note. I had received an e-mail from Iocus Severus on the eve
of the assignment. The subject line read "Brace yourself." There was
no text in the body of the message. While I understood why I was
receiving threats from Mr. Severus, I did not feel any threat of
imminent harm. I thought it more likely an attempt at intimidation
regarding this assignment, realizing though that Mr. Severus could be
referring to something outside of this assignment. At any rate, as I
prepared the official documents to be exchanged, I also prepared a
decoy set of documents, sealed in a manila envelope. I did this to
protect the documents in the event that someone should contact me with
the wrong initiating phrase or in the event that an attempt was made
to "bully" the documents I was to receive out of me. In the end, I did
not have to use the decoy documents.

I will be glad to answer any additional questions you may have.

Regards,

XXXX

Operation Complete.

The mission did not go totally to plan, but it was successful. The
deep-cover operative was on time and recognisable; they responded
correctly and delivered their document to me. I have this in my
possession and am awaiting further instruction regarding its final
destination.

I recognised the operative from the yellow flower on their lapel. The
operative was sat at a fairly open table at the back of the pub, with
an unread copy (intact spine) of the book Prozac Nation on the table,
and reading the day's Independent.

I gave the operative my communication within the pages of 'The London
Line' a weekly free paper that launched that evening. I stayed beyond
my allotted 5 minutes. This was part mistake and part cover. I was not
in eyeline of a clock and estimated the time I was there, equally I
did not want to leave before finishing my drink in case this aroused
suspicion. Finally I was not fully confident in the operative; they
seemed jumpy and not confident in their position. This concerned me so
I wanted more evidence to decide whether this person was to be
trusted. It was after 10-15 minutes that I realised that I may not
have been the operative's only contact that evening, so I quickly
completed the operation and left.

On leaving, the operative asked for my email address. I thought this
unusual, but then I find many factors of previous unusual as well, so
rather than jeopardise the operation I gave the operative a secure
address, but one not known to Operations Command. If Operations did
not sanction this request, I can delete the address given without any
harm to myself or my communication and dealings with Neurocam; equally
if Operations requires it I can reveal this email address. I can
confirm that it is not an address known to Operations Central Command.

I wait for further instructions regarding the second document. As
requested, this has been kept aside and has not been read by anyone.
