Enclosed are photos and maps showing the three potential "dead drops" outlined in my assignment. The enclosed photos are labeled dd1-1 through dd3-2 DD1 refers to the deaddrop being #1 which is listed on the enclosed maps. DD1-1 refers to the first picture in that dead drop series..etc.etc.

Tennessee Williams Park (aka dead drop #1 ) has good potential. It is surrounded by hedges and is in close proximity to houses and businesses in case something unforseen happens but is hidden enough for privacy if needed. It contains a statue of an angel and a bench. It is located at the intersection of Court st. and Polly pl.  and can also be accessed from Clark st.

War Memorial Gazeebo ( dead drop # 2) Is located at the SW corner of East Second st. and Desoto st. It is a gazeebo built next to the nearby war memorial. It is at the corner of two high traffic streets. It has several benches and is next to the city auditorium and a city fire station. Again..lots of privacy yet very close to high traffic areas.

Old Greyhound Bus Station (dead drop # 3) One of the very first Greyhound Bus Stations in the United States. Has recently been restored into a visitors center. It is in a very high traffic area and leaves little for privacy but is very easily accesible.

If anything else is needed please let me know. Also, please inform me upon receiving this assignment

[ Locate three (3) potential “dead drop” locations within Sunset. ]

There is a very secluded grassy area and a sidewalk out of view from the front of the store, all behind this flower shop: Cherie's Florist & Crafts, 2905 Highway 182, Sunset, LA 70584

Many hidden spots are abound at this Bed and Breakfast,.. ..under the steps, behind the main house itself, under the 'caboose', the possibilities are numerous. Located at: LaCaboose B&B 145 S. Budd Sunset, LA 70584

Lastly, the library of Sunset is very out-of-the-way and is rarely visited, and shuts down at night. It is not heavily staffed at all, and there are no security cameras here, or elsewhere. Located at: South St. Landry Community Library, 235 Marie Street, Sunset, LA 70584

Two miles east from Sunset is a massive graveyard with a walk-in cave next to the Academy of the Sacred Heart (the oldest girl's school in the US west of the MS river), the location of which I can attain of so requested, but the location being outside of Sunset proper, I refrained. I have attached three mapquest files. Sunset is located roughly 12 miles north of Lafayette, and is also 1 hour to 1.5 hours from New Orleans. Also attached is a picture of LaCaboose.

This is all contained in a zip file for ease of access. I would personally like to thank whoever's putting on this grand show - be it an ARG, art, study, experiment, a project just for fun, or be it something else entirely. It's a blast to participate in, and I can only hope I rise among the ranks to my full potential.

Dead Drop #1 A redish-brown metal container located behind the Station House Pub in Langford, British Columbia (a suburb of Victoria), beside the train tracks. Can either hop the fence from the pub or can go to end of the street pub is on, turn right at the crossing, and look for where the tracks are. . Has the word "Bike" painted on the side of the container in neon orange spraypaint. Contains a few disgarded articles, so the best method of disgusing any materials would be to have them contained in some sort of bag or object that wouldn't be out of place (i.e: a garbage bag with some characteristic so that it will be identifiable by an operative, etc.)

Specifics on getting to Dead Drop #1: Take the Old Island Highway through Colwood until you reach a set of lights where you have a London Drugs on your left side and a Café on your right. Turn right, and follow this road until you see a group of stores (Quiznos, a bank, Sex Shop, a few others) on your left hand side. Turn into that area, and drive straight until you reach the Station House Pub. Behind the black fence a little to the side of the pub is the dead drop.

Dead Drop #2 Located near the end of the part of the Galloping Goose Regional Trail that connects Colwood with Langford in the Canwest area. A small group of bushes, down hill on the side of the trail next to a tree. Objects can easily be concealed in this area, however it's reccomended that they blend in in some manner. There are a group of people that remove things from the trail such as garbage, etc, but if the object is concealed well enough, it shouldn't be a concern.

Specifics on getting to Dead Drop #2: Take the Old Island Highway through Colwood until you reach a set of lights where you have a London Drugs on your left side and a Café on your right. Turn right at these lights, and continue until you reach another set of lights. Turn left here. Continue on here until another set of lights. At the lights, the dead drop is to your far left in the bushes, down hill from the large tree at the enterance of the trail. Find somewhere to park (the mall is to your left), go to the trail, and locate the dead drop.

Dead Drop #3 Located within the Belmont Park military housing area. A stone building used as a thrift shop. Operatives can drop objects in front of the door so that they appear to be donated items. It is advised that any drop and retrieval be done a few hours within of each other, preferably during the evening, as it is not known if the donated things are picked up during the day, and when.

Specifics on getting to Dead Drop #3: Take the Old Island Highway until you see the Juan de Fuca Receration Centre. At the set of lights by there, turn left. Follow this road until you see the stone building, and do NOT turn to the left when you see a fork in the road, as this leads to Esquimalt Lagoon. The stone building is on the corner of this main road and another smaller road.

NEUROCAM ASSIGNMENT – NCI – 2561/01 – Dead Drop Reconnaissance

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000002d.jpg

Dead drop location Nr.1 Parallel with the railroad runs the “Erpsestraat” as you can see in the first image. At the end of the “Erpsestraat” turn to your right over the bridge.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/000000042.jpg

After you’ve crossed the bridge turn left, there you will see a draining gull. (circled in red)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/000000012.jpg

It’s the first one you see when you turn left after the bridge. I think this place is good because it’s low traffic, so it’s highly unlikely for somebody to pass and pick it up. Here are a few more pictures, with close ups of the place where you can hide something

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/000000032.jpg http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/000000021.jpg

Dead drop location Nr.2 Not so far from DD Nr.1 there is another good spot in the “Elizabethlaan” Just go all the way down the Elizabethlaan and there you will see the entrance to an playground (which is almost never used)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000008.jpg

When you are standing in front of the entrance of the playground, just follow the road that goes straight to the back.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000007.jpg If you keep following this road, you will see a tennis court to your left side. And there is a road that runs just along it. (circled in red)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000006.jpg

Just go towards the fence and you will see a dirt road that runs parallel with the tennis court, place enough to hide something between the bushes along the road

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000005.jpg

Dead drop location Nr.3 My third (and best IMO) DD location is in the “Princendreef”. Drive down the “Prinsendreef” untill you see this sign. (the one with the P on it)

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000012.jpg

To the left of this sign (unless you are coming from the other direction) there is a path into the forrest.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000013.jpg

Just follow this path for about 50 meters. Then you’ll see this branch that has fallen off a tree.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000011.jpg

Get down to there. When you are there, you’ll see that there are several pits in the ground.

http://img.photobucket.com/albums/v124/Bart1/neurocam/00000010.jpg

Any of these pits are not visible from on the hill (where the path is located) and are very good DD locations. Or you can also hide it underneath the branches that are lying near the big branch.

Hi,

Three "dead drop" locations marked on street map and aerial images with supporting location photographs attached.

Location 1 - Motherby Lane Car Park, Motherby Lane Motherby Lane is located just off West Parade on the edge of the city centre. The car park is small with little movement of traffic. The parking meter (drop1a.jpg) backs onto a red brick wall which conceals the back of the parking meter (drop1b.jpg). This location is suitable only for envelopes which should be duct taped to the rear of the parking meter.

Location 2 - Spike & Tap Window, Spital & Tap Public House, Hungate At the end of Motherby Lane where it meets Hungate is the Spike & Tap Public House. The pub has some derelict out buildings that form the wall for the pubs rear yard. The windows were long ago boarded up on both sides of the wall. Some of these are now falling off with age making an accessible cavity where the window once was. While the glass is gone caution is advised. This location is opposite to another small car park but Hungate is slightly more travelled than Motherby Lane. This location would be suitable for small envelopes or packages that are not much larger than an fist. The window to the left of the bricked up doorway should be used.

Location 3 - City Centre Bus Station Bins, Melville Street The bus station has a pedestrian entrance opposite bus stand letter O at the foot of a stairwell that leads to the car park above. Behind this stairwell are two large bus station bins (drop3a.jpg). The bins are not visible from the bus stands but is from the passing street (drop3b.jpg). Melville is busy with vehicles and is a no stopping zone. The location is suitable for packages of a larger size up to one cubic foot but items should not be left at this location for any extended period. Bin emptying and filling times are unknown.
